RankTime ยท Last updated 2 July 2026
RankTime ("the app", "we") is an interval workout timer for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. We built RankTime to keep your data on your device and in your own private iCloud. We do not run a server that stores your workouts, and we cannot read your iCloud content.
No account required
RankTime has no login and no user account. Purchases and any iCloud sync use the Apple ID already signed in to your device. We never see your Apple ID password, name, or payment details.
Data the app processes
- Workout data: templates, exercises, durations, rounds, reps, statistics and notes you create. Stored on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud.
- Camera and video: when you use camera rep-detection or recording, the camera feed is analysed on your device (Apple Vision) to count reps. Any video you record is saved locally and, if enabled, to your private iCloud. Video is not uploaded to us.
- Motion and connected sensors: the app reads device motion (accelerometer) and can connect to Bluetooth sensors such as a Polar H10 heart-rate strap to detect reps and heart rate. This is processed on your device.
- Health data (HealthKit): with your permission, the app saves completed workouts and heart-rate samples to Apple Health, and may read heart-rate data. HealthKit data is managed by Apple and stays under your control. It is never used for advertising and never sold.
- Body and progress: optional progress photos and metrics you add are stored privately in your iCloud and are not shared with us.
- Purchases: subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple. The app only receives whether you are entitled to Pro; it does not receive or store your card details.
Analytics and crash reports
To fix bugs and understand which features are used, the app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics. This includes crash logs and anonymous usage events (for example "workout started"). It contains no names, no health data, and no personal content.
This is off until you opt in. On first launch the app asks whether
you want to share anonymous usage and crash data; nothing is sent before you answer.
You can change your choice at any time in Settings, Diagnostics, Share crash
reports & analytics. When off, no analytics or crash data is sent.
Third parties
- Apple: iCloud (CloudKit) sync, HealthKit, and App Store purchases. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Google Firebase: analytics and crash reporting, when enabled.
- Polar: if you connect a Polar device, its official SDK reads sensor data over Bluetooth on your device.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Data retention and deletion
Your workout data lives on your device and in your private iCloud. Deleting the app removes local data; to remove iCloud copies, delete the app's data from iCloud in your device settings. Analytics and crash data held by Firebase can be reset by turning the setting off. To request deletion of any diagnostic data, contact us below.
Children
RankTime is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected here.
